PURPOSE:To inhibit a gripper from oscillating when a test piece is attached or detached by providing an oscillation inhibiting member which restrains the joint part of a universal joint and an adjusting means which adjusts the oscillation inhibiting member so that the joint part is restrained or released. CONSTITUTION:When compressed air is sent to a cylinder chamber 22 from an intake outlet 24, a piston 21 and an operating shaft 26 coupled with it move down and a taper part 26a presses a couple of link shafts 33 out of a frame 10 against the energizing force of a spring 31. A grip gear shaft 36, therefore, moves into the frame 10 through a link 35 and both grip teeth 37 are closed to grip the test-piece TP. Further, the oscillation inhibiting member 51 coupled 52 with the piston 21 moves down to expose the joint parts of upper and lower joints 41 and 42, and the gripper 10 becomes free. Then when the compressed air is sent from the intake outlet 25 to the cylinder chamber 23, the piston 21 and operating shaft 26 move up and a linear part 26b moves the link shafts 33 inward with the energizing force of the spring 31, so that the gripping teeth 37 are opened. The member 51 also moves up to shield the joint part, thereby inhibiting the gripper 100 from oscillating.
