PURPOSE:To properly and certainly perform regeneration work, by stopping the supply of raw water used for collecting soft water at a period when the effect of an ion exchange resin is lost to inform the necessity of regeneration to a user. CONSTITUTION:An ion exchange resin bed 1a is provided in a container 1 having a raw water inlet 6, a soft water outlet 7 and a regeneration drain port 11. The inlet valve 5 for opening and closing the raw water inlet 6 of the container 1, the drain port valve 10 for opening and closing the regeneration drain port 11 and detection circuits 14, 14a, 15 for detecting the regenerating salt of the ion exchange resin bed are provided. Further, a control circuit 17 informs or displays the regeneration of the ion exchange resin bed to a user to close the inlet valve 5 and opens the inlet valve 5 at the time of regeneration and receives the output due to the detection of the regenerating salt from the aforementioned detection circuits to open the drain port valve and drives the solenoid valve 8. Furthermore, a regenerating salt tank 16 is connected to the raw water inlet 6 of the container 1.
