PROPULSION MODULE FOR RENDEZ-VOUS DOCKING

PURPOSE:To enable exchange of a propulsion system only by disposing thrusters having thrust vectors which are inclined from the surface outward at a suitable angle and turned to four directions intersecting each other at right angles at four designated positions where two portions on the forward wide are opposite to each other and two portions on the rear side are opposite to each other. CONSTITUTION:The progress direction of a space flying main body 1 is left (+ x axis direction) in the vertical direction in the drawing, and a propulsion module 2 is fitted to the terminal portion of the flying main body 1. Thruster clusters (thruster will be satisfactory) 3-6 are disposed at positions on the upper surface and the lower surface of the propulsion module 2 in the vertical direction in the drawing, that are symmetrical to the front portion and the rear portion. The respective thruster clusters are inclined from the arrangement surface outwards at a suitable angle and have thrust vectors turned to four directions (C11-C14, C21-C24, C31-C34, C41-C44) intersecting each other at right angles. These are combined to control jet of the respective thruster clusters 3-6 so that translation force in the directions of three axes and turning torque round these axes can be independently generated.
