OPERATION TIME MEASURING INSTRUMENT FOR SHIP PROPELLER

PURPOSE:To accurately measure the operation time of an engine by connecting a time meter to a power supply circuit connected to a generation coil and fixing the time meter around the engine. CONSTITUTION:The time meter 60 is held unitedly with a case 32A of an ignition control device 32, connected to the generation coil 29 and earthed through a rectifier 61B and a current restricting resistor 61A. The time meter 60 includes electrodes 63A, 63B on both the ends of a transparent glass container 62 and mercury 64 and electrolyte 65 are sealed in the container 62. When a DC voltage is impressed between the electrodes, mercury 62 is electrolytically extracted from the positive pole to the negative pole through the electrolyte 65 and the electrolyte is moved from the negative pole to the positive pole. The moving distance is proportional to the quantity of supplied electricity. When the current is fixed, the current supply time can be decided by the moving distance and the operation time of the engine can be accurately decided. Since a maintenance/ inspection period or the like can be decided, the instrument can be effectively utilized.
