PURPOSE:To enable rapid processing and to obtain the higher image quality by incorporating a silver halide emulsion obtd. by flocculating silver halide particles together with protective colloid and removing the dissolved matter therefrom into silver halide emulsion layers and incorporating a polymer latex into at least one layer. CONSTITUTION:The silver halide emulsion obtd. by flocculating the silver halide particles, which are formed by adding a water soluble silver salt soln. and a water soluble halide soln. into a soln. contg. the protective colloid, by a flocculating high- polymer agent together with the protective colloid and removing the dissolved matter therefrom is incorporated into the silver halide emulsion layers and the polymer latex is incorporated into at least one layer of the silver halide emulsion layers. Gelatin and other materials which can constitute the protective colloid are used for the aq. soln. contg. the protective colloid. The deterioration in the image quality in rapid processing at high pH and high temp. and particularly in the processing by an automatic developing machine is thereby lessened and the impairment of the photographic performance is obviated.
