PREPARATION OF PACKED KAGAMIMOCHI(ROUND SHAPED RICE-CAKE(OFFERED TO DEITY))

PURPOSE:To prepare a Kagamimochi[a round mirror-shaped rice-cake(offered to the deity)] having a plain outer surface, good appearance, and improved shelf stability without using rice meal, by shaping the Kagamimochi on the outer periphery of a rotary supporting disc by a rotator revolving at a lower speed of rotation than that of the rotary supporting disc, followed by packaging. CONSTITUTION:The rice cake mass C immediately after pounding is fed to the contact point between the rotary supporting disc A and the rotator B revolving at a lower speed of rotation than that of the rotatry supporting disc, set at the outer periphery of the disc. The rice cake mass C is rotated along the circular arc face 1 of the rotator B while turning on its axis so that it is made into a mirror-shaped form. After being solidified, it is packed with a transparent synthetic resin film and isolated from the atmosphere, to give a packed Kagamimochi without sterilization under heating.
