APPARATUS FOR CONVERTING DATA BETWEEN DIGITAL AND ANALOG VALUESAbstract of the DisclosureApparatus for converting between analog and digitalvalues includes means for providing a plurality of signalsrepresenting the digital values. Sub-sets of control switchesare also provided, the number of control switches in eachsub-set being directly related to the digital significance ofthe control switches in such sub-set. The control switches ineach sub-set may be paired to provide for a conductivity of oneswitch in each pair. The signals representing individualdigital values are introduced to the associated sub-sets toprovide for the conductivity of an individual one of the controlswitches in each pair in accordance with the digital valuerepresented by such signals. The control switches are connectedin a recursive relationship defined by repetitions of a basicblock. Each basic block is in turn defined by a pair of basicsub-blocks. A plurality of capacitors are also provided asoutput members. The capacitors are connected to the recursiverelationship of the control switches to charge the capacitorsthrough paths defined by the conductive ones of the controlswitches. When the capacitors are conductive, the controlswitches operate to introduce the charge from the capacitors toone of two output lines. For progressive increases in thedigital value, a progressive number of the capacitors areconnected to a particular one of the output lines, andcapacitors previously connected to the particular output lineare maintained connected to the output line with suchprogressive increases in the digital value. The cumulativecurrent through the particular output line is indicative of theanalog value.**********
