PURPOSE:To improve cutting accuracy by providing a circuit for controlling the speed of pinch roll indivisually, a circuit for providing a drooping speed control characteristic to pinch rolls except those arranged below the rear face, a meandoring detector, a meandoring correction circuit, and the like. CONSTITUTION:A rolling material 1 is fed through pinch rolls 3a-3c, 4a-4c arranged on the front and rear faces of a double side shear 2. The pinch rolls 3a-3c, 4a-4c are driven through motors 5a-5c, 6a-6c which are controlled through speed control amplifiers 11, 12, current control amplifiers 13, 14 and power converters 15, 16. Drooping circuits are provided in the speed control amplifiers for the motors except those for pinch roll below the rear face. Meandoring amount of the rolling material 1 detected through a meandoring detector 7 is subjected to proportional differentiation in order to correct meandoring. Consequently, meandoring of the rolling material 1 is prevented, resulting in a highly accurate cutting.
