CONSTITUTION:A compound containing two bifunctional, tetrafunctional or hexafunctional organic sulfur groups, organoslenium groups or organotellurium groups in the molecule or two organic ether groups in the molecule is irradiated with light rays, preferably laser beam, especially excimer laser and a carbon- carbon bond is formed to give a cyclic organic compound from the raw material readily derived from a cyclic organic compound, organic halogen compound, unsaturated organic compound or alcoholic compound by simple operation only by light irradiation in a solution at normal temperature under normal pressure under neutral condition in high yield.
