BLOCK FOR REVETMENT AND REVETMENT LEVEE EMPLOYING SAID BLOCK

PURPOSE:To build a strong revetment levee, by a method wherein blocks, each of which is constituted such that a wave crushing plate, inclined toward the bottom plate side, is filled in the bottom in a manner that a part of the bottom is left uncovered to form a drain passage forming part, are laid so that the wave crushing plates are rectilinearly aligned with an obtuse-angle surface to the bottom plate of the wave crushing plate pointed to the off-shore side. CONSTITUTION:Blocks for revetment are longitudinally and lateraly aligned on a face of slope 10 in a condition to be firmly adhered to each other, and an end 8 o the off-shore side of a bottom plate 1 is engaged with a recess 5. In this case, a drain passage 12 is formed with a drain passage forming part 7. Thus, waves, rolling from the off-shore side, firstly crash into a wave crushing surface 6 and are crushed, and a part of sea water is stored in a water storage part 9. Secondary, remaining sea water crashes into the wave crushing surface of a block at the upper stage of adjoining stages and are crushed, and a part thereof is stored in the water storage part 9. Finally, sea water is decreased in an amount as it is gradually raised to upper stages, and this causes damping of wave energy.
