U-SHAPED BLOCK AND STEPPED REVETMENT LEVEE EMPLOYING SAID BLOCK

PURPOSE:To build a strong revetment levee, by a method wherein U-shaped blocks, each of which is constituted such that a rear wall and a front wall, inclined inwardly, are integrally filled in a bottom plate, and a part of the front wall is cut off from a bottom surface, are laid. CONSTITUTION:Front walls 4 of U-shaped blocks, pointed to the off-shore side are aligned on the same plane in a condition to be firmly adhered to each other. Secondly, earth or crushed stones are piled up in the back of a rear wall 2 in a manner that it is piled up to a level equal to that of a rear wall, and a bottom plate 1 is firmly adhered so that a front edge part 5 is superposed with the upper edge of the rear wall 2 for arrangement. Thirdly, the blocks are gradually piled up to build a stepped revetment levee. Thus, waves, rolling from the off- shore side, are firstly collided with the front wall 4, a water storage part 10 is filled with a part of sea water, the water stoage parts 10 at upper stages are orderly filled to gradually decrease an amount of sea water, resulting in reduction in waves energy.
