Pressure meter used in medical procedures - measures dilation balloon pressures during dotter procedure for dilating blood vessels

The pressure meter gives an accurate measurement of the pressure applied to the inner walls of blood vessels via dilation balloon. The process, known as the "DOTTER" method of Percutaneous Transluminal Angioplasty (PTA) requires that a pressure of 6 to 8 bar is applied to the vessel, several times for periods of a few seconds, if the pressure is too great, the vessel may split; if it is too low the treatment may not work. A volume of gas is allowed into the transparent meter tube (Drukmeter) via an end cap (Afsluitdopje), until the gas/liquid meniscus is on the 0 bar line of the scale. A syringe (Spuit), coupled to the (PTA) catheter via a Tee-piece, is used to increase the pressure. The gas is compressed until the meniscus reaches the required line on the tube.
