A device in drive units intended for boats, comprising an engine, a reversing gear, at least one propeller and a number of drive shafts (1) interconnecting said components, is designed to prevent reversing of the rotational direction of the engine. This goal is achieved therein that around the shaft (1) connecting the engine with the reversing gear are mounted preferably mechanical means (4, 6) which are arranged to allow rotation of the shaft (1) in one direction and to prevent rotation thereof in the opposite direction.
