Method and apparatus for treatment of products such as root crops, potatoes, artichokes, mushrooms and the like, the products, having been washed or brushed, being transported in moist condition over a roller table 11,12 whilst at the same time being rolled or rotated and powdered with a particulate material such as peat powder, soil or sand, which, by means of a conveyor 28,29, is advanced to a drop-down point over the roller table and is able to drop down onto the products present thereon so as for this material to stick at least in patches to the surface of the products.
