- 9 -Abstract of the DisclosureA circuit for quantizing television horizontalphase to subcarrier zero crossings has a voltagevariable delay circuit to delay the leading edges ofincoming horizontal pulses to produce a delayedhorizontal pulse output. The corresponding leadingedges of the delayed horizontal pulse output are inputto the clock input of a flip-flop to store the levelof a square wave input which has a given transition(high to low, for example) for each zero crossing ofthe subcarrier. The stored levels are integrated toproduce an error signal which is used to delay theleading edges of the incoming horizontal pulses sothat the leading edges of the delayed horizontal pulseoutput are time quantized within a narrow window at asubcarrier zero crossing.
