In the case of a known arrangement of this type, a bridge consisting of non-magnetic material is arranged between the laminated stator core and the housing of the machine. In the case of this arrangement, the stray magnetic fields are intended to be damped inductively by the eddy currents induced in the bridge. This results in additional losses, and the intrinsic heating of the bridge prevents the dissipation of the heat losses produced in the stator. The novel arrangement is intended to reduce the stray flux levels passing through the housing in comparison with known arrangements without bridging by the bridge and to avoid additional losses in the bridge, with the adverse effect, resulting therefrom, with respect to heat dissipation from the laminated stator core. For this purpose, the bridge (4; 9; 10; 12; 19; 21) has a construction which suppresses eddy currents. An electrical machine having a laminated stator core which carries alternating magnetic fluxes.
