In a flame-trap fixture which is proof against slow combustion, having a protective cap (7) arranged above the flame trap (5), which cap can swing open and is secured in the closed position by a melting element (12, 13, 15; 12', 13', 15') and swings open when the melting element loses its mechanical strength on the occurrence of slow combustion, a mechanically strong, corrosion-resistant and fast- responding melting element can be produced if the melting element has an external two-part shell (12, 13; 12', 13') of heat-conducting, stable material, the two shell parts (12, 13; 12', 13') thereof being held together by a fusion core (15, 15') which is connected to the two shell parts (12, 13; 12', 13') by positive fitting.
