Process for selectively coating areas of a transparent substrate sheet, which may consist of clear acrylic glass, with a stamping foil, in particular a metallic one, in which a cover film is first applied to the substrate sheet by the screen printing method, which cover film covers only those parts of the substrate sheet which are not to be coated, the stamping foil is then applied to the entire substrate sheet surface carrying the cover film by the roller stamping process, the cover film is then removed from the substrate sheet and a coloured layer which supports the colouring effected by the stamping foil is applied to the substrate sheet by the screen printing method, characterised in that the coloured layer is applied to that coated side of the substrate sheet which also carries the stamping foil.
