The paper layer system for the optional immediate production of a postcard with or without text coverage with an adhesive closure or a letter, with simultaneous production of duplicates of the address and text sides, represents a method whereby, by separation of lateral strips, it is optionally possible to produce, immediately, either a postcard or a postcard in which the text side is masked by a sheet with an adhesive closure or a letter which is closed on all sides, duplicates of the address and text sides, attached to an adhesive edge, always however being produced and being capable of immediate filing. Such a method is of great practical value since it makes it possible - where the nature of the correspondence permits such handling - for the production of documents which, as is known, entails a relatively high input of effort, partly for ergonomic reasons, to be lastingly simplified and hence made more cost-effective.
