The ennds of the lace (9) are put through holes (7,8) in a plate, after they have been threaded through holes (4,6) in the sides of the upper (1,2), and then knotted. The plate is made of metal or plastics material and its holes are closer together than the holes in the upper. The plate has studs (12) on its lower surface which are inserted into the space (11) between the sides of the upper, to centre the plate. A graphic or three dimensional design can be represented on a space (13) on the plate. USE - For fastening shoe laces.
