PURPOSE:To reduce a decision making error in the soldering visual inspection of the gull wing type lead IC by using four surface light sources which are arranged surrounding an object of the inspection as lighting devices and making a decision by comparing the area of a reflected light pattern. CONSTITUTION:The four surface light sources 1-1 to 1-4 are arranged at four peripheral positions surrounding the IC to be inspected on a printed board 2 and lighting is switched according to the projection direction of an IC lead to be inspected to switch the lighting direction. An image of an inspected position of the IC which is lighted by the lighting devices is inputted from an ICTV camera 3 to an image processor 6 to decide whether or not a solder padding part is normal or not.
