PURPOSE:To reutilize the regenerated filter cloth cleaning water as the filter cloth cleaning water and to prevent a decrease in the quality of filter cloth cleaning waste water by forming the solid in the waste water into a floc contg. magnetic powder, removing the floc from the magnetic powder-filtrate mixture as the magnetized material. CONSTITUTION:Sludge 4 to be treated and a flocculant 5 are supplied to a belt press-type dehydrator 1, and compressed in the dehydrator 1 through a filter cloth to dehydrate the sludge 4. The dehydrated cake 8 is released from the filter cloth, and discharged. The filter cloth is cleaned by filter cloth cleaning water 7, and the generated filter cloth cleaning waste water 9 is supplied to a magnetic powder mixing tank 10. The waste water 9 added with magnetic powder 11a in the tank 10 is supplied to a flocculation tank 15 as magnetic powder-mixed waste water 14, the filtrate 16 separated in the dehydrator 1 is supplied to the tank 15, and the waste water 14 mixed with the filtrate 16 in the tank 15 is supplied to a magnetic separator 19 as a magnetic powder- filtrate mixture 18. The regenerated filter cloth cleaning water 21 obtained by separating the magnetized material from the mixture 18 in the separator 19 is supplied to the dehydrator 1 as cleaning water.
