PURPOSE: To properly and completely discharge so as to protect them from freezing, by constituting a freeze protected, aircooled vacuum steam condenser for condensing steam used in a turbine by cooling from a plurality of U-shaped tube elements each of which has a front header and a rear header. CONSTITUTION: In a power unit 10, steam generated in a boiler 12 is supplied to a turbine 14 so as to work, exhaust gas is condensed by an air-cooled steam condenser 18, once stored in a storage tank 84, and again supplied to the boiler 12 by a pump 88. In this case, the steam condenser 18 is constituted of a steam condensing system 22, an air moving system 24 including a draft fan 86, a condensate outflowing system 26, and a gas removing vacuum system 28. The steam condensing system 22 is provided with a plurality of steam condensing bundles 56 attached to a steam supply duct 35, and each steam condensing bundle 56 is constituted of a U-shaped tube elements having two front headers 36, 38 and rear headers 37, 39.
