PURPOSE:To use hot water without excess or shortage, by obtaining an expression of relation of the total consumed heat quantity and the average water temperature of the supplied water for every day, substituting the temperature of the supplied water at the time midnight electric power supply is started into the expression of relation, estimating the total consuming thermal quantity for an applicable day, and storing heat in a water heater utilizing midnight electric power. CONSTITUTION:When a water heater utilizing midnight electric power, wherein an electric heater which utilizes the midnight electric power is built in, is used, the thermal quantity of remaining hot water and the boiled thermal quantity of every day are measured based on the operation result for several days, the thermal quantity of the remaining hot water is subtracted from said boiled water, and the total consumed thermal quantity of every day is computed. Then, the average temperature of the supplied water for every day is detected, and the expression of relation between the total consumed thermal quantity and the temperature of the supplied water is obtained by the method of least squares. The total consuming thermal quantity of an applicable day is estimated by the expression of relation. Therefore, the hot water can be used up without excess or shortage of the hot water for unspecified many households.
