METHOD FOR GOING UP AND DOWN STAIRS AND VEHICLE FOR GOING UP AND DOWN STAIRS

PURPOSE:To make it possible for a user to go up and down the stairs without need for a helper to help him, by providing front and rear portions of its body frame with respective lifting means and, when the user goes up/down the stairs, making the rear lifting means parallel to the front lifting means and also driving the front lifting means. CONSTITUTION:First lifting means comprises front wheels 12 provided on the front portion of its body frame 11 and being rotated by a motor 13, two of right and left rollers 15 axially supported at the rough center of the body frame 11, and two of right and left belt-shaped front caterpillers 16 wound between the rollers 15 and the output shaft of the motor 13. Second lifting means comprises two of right and left ball spring shafts 19 provided at the back of the frame 11 via a ball spring shaft rotating mechanism 17, a fixed ball spring nut 20 and a rear caterpiller folding mechanism 21 both provided vertically movably between the right and left ball spring shafts 19, a stanchion 22 formed integrally with the nut 20, and a rear caterpiller 25 provided as to a caterpiller supporting shaft 23 rotatably provided at the lower end of the stanchion 22.
