PURPOSE:To reduce a seismic load of an iron frame support by a method wherein the rigidity of a linking device linking the part of the main body of a boiler above the center of gravity thereof to the iron frame support is made smaller than that of a linking device linking the part of the main body below the center of gravity thereof to the iron frame support. CONSTITUTION:The rigidity of a linking device 3 linking the part of the main body 2 of a boiler above the center of gravity thereof to an iron frame 1 support is made smaller than that of a linking device 3 linking the part of the main body 2 of the boiler below the center of gravity thereof to the iron frame support 1, and linking is made in this condition. By this means of joining the upper part of the boiler by the vibration-suppressing device 3 having a small rigidity and joining the lower part of the boiler by the vibration-stopping device having a large rigidity, a large vibration of the support structure 1 caused by an earthquake is not transmitted directly to the upper part of the main body 2 of the boiler, and therefore a generated seismic force turns small. Although the vibration of the support structure 1 has a direct effect on the lower part of the main body 2 of the boiler, to the contrary, the mass itself is about 1/3 of the entire boiler and the effect thereof on the entire structure is small. Consequently, the generated seismic force in the entire structure of the boiler can be reduced.
