PURPOSE:To obtain an org. acid permselective polymer membrane having large org. acid flow flux and suitable for an osmotic evaporation membrane or a steam separation membrane, by blending tertiary phosphorus oxide and a halogen-containing vinyl polymer. CONSTITUTION:Tetrahydrofran is added to tertiary phosphorus oxide such as octylphosphine oxide and a halogen-containing vinyl polymer such as polyvinyl chloride under stirring to prepare a uniform solution which is, in turn, cast onto a glass plate and tetrahydrofran is evaporated to obtain a membrane. By using this membrane, the osmotic evaporative separation of a low concn. org. acid aqueous solution such as an aqueous acetic acid solution or the vapor permeating separation of an org. acid-water vapor mixture is performed.
