A low-frequency therapeutic device for iontophoresing cation and anion comprises a low-frequency generator (A) and a switch (S1-S3), e.g. a rotary switch, to select the polarity of the low-frequency voltage. The switch (S1) is operable in association with the on/off operation of a power source (B), and an active electrode (E, F) is connected by way of the switch (S1-S3 to the output of the low-frequency generator (A). The device is to be used to improve the efficacy of the iontophoresis of a liquid medicine including cationic and anionic elelemts.
