Recently, we have investigated the temperature dependence of the low-frequency spectra below ca. 200 cm?1 of various ILs by femtosecond Raman-induced Kerr effect spectroscopy (fs-RIKES). The large contributions of aromatic cations to the spectral intensity and shape which largely influenced the temperature dependence were found, while the effects of anions were still unclear.
