A method for producing a printed circuit board having a plurality of conductor track levels, and a corresponding multilayer printed circuit board, especially for SMD technology. A first conductor track level 3 is produced from a first conductive layer 2 by removing parts 4 of the conductive layer. An insulation layer 6 is applied thereon. Parts of this insulation layer 6 are photochemically removed in order to produce recesses 7. A second conductive layer 8 is applied onto the insulation layer 6 including the recesses 7, the second conductive layer 8 making contact in the recesses 7 with a conductor track 5 on the first conductor track level 3. Parts of the second conductive layer are removed in order to produce a second conductor track level 11. The invention is directed at a corresponding multilayer printed circuit board. IMAGE
