Refuse-burning boiler plant - has dosing arrangements for dry basic additive to meet clean flue-gas requirements

Plant for burning fossil fuels is particularly suitable for burning refuse. It includes the boiler (1), which may have an afterburner )arrangement (9), and a flue stack (13) and filters (12). A dosing arrangement is provided for a dry basic additive for binding acid-forming gases. There is at least one other arrangement, at a different stage, for a basic additive. Upstream of each of these additive arrangements (14,15; 17,18) is a flue-gas sensor (16;19) for controlling it. USE/ADVANTAGE - Fuels of compositions that can vary considerably and continually, such as refuse, can meet required clean-gas values reliably and with economical use of basic )additives. The use of basic additives in dry form saves considerable expense in apparatus.
