The double barrelled gun has a first or main barrel (2) to which an attachment piece (3) is rigidly fixed. The second barrel (7) has its rear end rigidly fixed to the attachment piece (3) while its forward half is supported in a tube (4) which is attached to the main barrel (2) by longitudinal ribs (6). This support tube (4) is fitted with a bush (9) at each end which is a close clearance fit on the second barrel (7) so that an annular gap (8) is formed between the second barrel (7) and the support tube in the region between the bushes. USE/ADVANTAGE - Each barrel can expand longitudinally when fired without imposing a load on the other barrel which could cause the barrels to bend.
