DEFOAMING METHOD FOR SEWAGE TREATING TANK

PURPOSE:To easily and effectively remove the foam generated on a sewage surface by forming a filter bed consisting of floating type contact filter media having =1 sp. gr. in an aeration treating tank for sewage and imposing a nonwoven fabric on the filter bed, then blowing air from the bottom of the tank. CONSTITUTION:The filter bed 1 consisting of the floating type contact filter media 2 having =1 sp. gr. is formed on the sewage surface of the sewage treating tank 3 by aeration and the non-woven fabric 4 is imposed on the filter bed 1. On the other hand, an air diffuser 5 is provided on one side of the sewage treating tank 3 and the air is blown into the sewage. The org. matter, etc., generated by decomposition of the sewage and sludge sticks to the surface of the floating type contact filter media 2 and propagates the microorganisms, etc., effective for cleaning of the sewage and sludge; therefore, the efficiency of cleaning is extremely good. The foam generated by the decomposed gas and diffused air generated at the time of the cleaning is easily erased during the passage through the non-woven fabric 4 at this time. The installation and maintenance and control of the defoaming treatment facilities are, therefore, extremely easy and inexpensively executed.
