PURPOSE:To intercept propagation of pressure wave and to prevent occurrence of ununiformity of density by a method wherein fluid passage walls partitioning each of driving blocks are extended toward a common fluid chamber, and at least a part of the common fluid chamber is divided in accordance with each of the driving blocks. CONSTITUTION:A recording head 10 is provided for execution of recording with ink that is guided from a common fluid chamber 4 to individual fluid passages 5 partitioned with fluid passage walls 8, and is discharged with discharge energy- producing elements driven for each of driving blocks A, B, C.... Fluid passage side walls 8A that divide the driving blocks A, B, C... are made longer than other side walls S and are extending toward the common fluid chamber 4. A member numbered 9 is a rear wall of the recording head 10; in other words, the rear wall for the common fluid chamber 4. In the ink-jet recording head 10 in the above-mentioned structure, recording image signals for each one line of recording are inputted into the recording head and the driving is made for each of the blocks A, B, C... in serial order, and thereby the recording is made for each of the lines. As the side walls 8A intercept propagation of pressure wave in this case, ununiformity of density in the recording can be prevented from occurring.
