PURPOSE: To connect striplike products straight on an edge part to each other by providing a controller to control an axial adjustment drive device for a roll supporting body of a new roll according to the difference in between an edge part of a terminating striplike product and an edge part of a part of the striplike product wound around the outer side of the new roll. CONSTITUTION: A roll sensor F1 is provided for a new roll 10, the sensor F1 detects the position of an edge part of a part 10' of a striplike product wound around the outer side of the new roll 10 and functions as an actual value detector of a second controller R1. Then, the controller controls axial adjustment drive devices AI, AII for roll supporting bodies I, II of the new roll 10 according to the difference in position between an edge part of a striplike product 30 to be terminated and an edge part of the part 10' of the striplike product wound around the outer side of the new roll 10.
