MONITORING SYSTEM FOR AUTOMATIC PACKAGING LINE

PURPOSE:To discover a failure in the early stage and also provide ease of maintenance by a method wherein a first detector which monitors the package bag feeding action and a second detector which monitors the content filling action are provided to detect a failure with the passage of time, and an abnormality of a line is indicated on a display together with the time of occurrence. CONSTITUTION:A package bag detecting sensor is installed near by a bag feeding pallet 4 to detect whether a package bag 1 is present or not, and a pallet change-over device 5 supplies the next bag feeding pallet to a specified place when the package bag 1 is absent. A filling machine 13 is equipped with a hopper 14, and the package bag 1 is clamped to the lower opening by a chuck. A mis-clump monitor 14b is provided to detect the clamping of the bag. A sequence controller 30 is connected to a personal computer. The personal computer includes an abnormality detector 31 which detects an abnormality of a line with the passage of time according to detected signals of the detectors and an output device which outputs the detected abnormality of the line as well as the time of occurrence to a display 32. As the abnormality is indicated together with the time of occurrence, the abnormality can be repaired in the early stage.
