PURPOSE:To prevent the withering and wetting of raw tea leaves during storage in the processing of tea leaves, by spraying fine particles of mist in air, and passing the obtained cooled and humid air through the layer or raw tea leaves. CONSTITUTION:Air is taken through the opening 1a into the mixing room 1 (the retention time is = several minutes), sprayed with fine particles of mist sent from the ultrasonic humidifier 2, and mixed to effect nearly complete evaporation of the mist particles and the cooling of the air by the heat of evaporation. Cooled and humid air having a humidity of about 90-95% is produced by this process. The air is sent through the duct 3 and the perforated plate 6 of the pit 4 with the ventilation fan 5, and passed through the layer 7 of the raw tea leaves stacked on the perforated plate 6 (to a thickness of about 60-100cm). The heat of respiration and heat of collection of the raw tea leaves are absorbed and removed, and proper moisture is applied to the raw tea leaves by this method.
