Rust, caused by the fungus Puccinia melanocephala Sydow is one of Diseases of Sugar Cane which reduces its performance.Up to the present like other Rust Puccinia melanocephala was considered as a parasitic Bound.The main objectives were to find work, a selective Medium where the fungus could grow and also occur in the same Five Reproductive events.Prepared a defined Culture Medium comprising a carbohydrate assimilated and mineral salts agarThis enables the growth of Puccinia melanocephala producing Five Reproductive events of a macrocyclic Rust.This method can be applied in the Study of new races of the pathogen, its bioecology Study, Biological and Chemical Control and the susceptibility and Resistance of the host Plant.It will be widely applied in Plant Pathology and Research of MINAGRI and month.
