The ride makes use of a tilting circular platform and a sync. projected display to simulate the effect of a journey on a long track. The passengers board a carriage (12) at a station (3). The carriage passes along rails into a domed, light-tight enclosure (1), the roof of which is covered by a projection screen (2). The carriage moves onto a turntable (8). In addition to rotating about its axis (9) the whole turntable and its load can be raised and tilted by the action of a hydraulic cylinder (7) and a pivotted (6) arm (5).
