The berry picker according to the invention is made entirely of plastic and has no metal parts. The rear section 6 can be opened for emptying and cleaning the picker, and it is locked with its upper part in the handle 23 via a snap lock. The screen 5 between the picking teeth 54 and the collection space for the berries is inclined slightly and its upper side 53 forms a uniform curve together with the upper side of the picking teeth 54. The tilting movement needed to move the berries into the picker is thus small, which facilitates picking considerably. The continuously repeated and large tilting movement in the previous pickers was, after a time, very tiring on the wrist. By virtue of the fact that the screen has a vertical lower part 52, it is, despite the slight inclination, sufficiently high to prevent the berries from falling out even when the picker is inclined quite sharply forwards.
