Process for obtaining triaminoguanidine nitrate in which reaction is promoted between guanidine nitrate and hydrazine or hydrazine hydrate in aqueous medium, adding nitrate ions acting as catalysts for the reaction if necessary, performing the process in a batch or continuous manner and if appropriate recycling the mother liquors obtained to increase its overall yield. The reaction is performed in batches in a single reactor with the reagents added in any order. IMAGE
