A METHOD OF SUPPLYING THE VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS OF SHOPPING CENTERSWITH DEPARTMENT-SPECIFIC INFORMATIONABSTRACTThe invention relates to a method of supplying the variousdepartments of shopping centers or the like wherein shoppingcarts or trolleys are used with department-specific informationas well as with independently selectable additional informativeitems. Each information is digitally processed in centralfacilities, stored and subsequently transmitted on lines intime-compressed form and in a certain cycle to the variousdepartments. The time-compressed information is then seriallysent by wireless transmission into the area of the respectivedepartment.Department-specific information thus transmitted is receivedby the receiving unit of any shopping cart within that area,temporarily stored therein and, reexpanded to the originalinformation length, made audible once in analogous and completeform, i.e. from beginning to end, irrespective of the shoppingcart's position within that area.Any additional informative item transmitted into the area ofthe respective department can be independently selected andrecalled by means of a keyboard provided on every shoppingcart. The thus selected additional informative item is thenexpanded to the original information length and renderedaudible once in analogous and complete form.
