A flow control device for a stream of fine particles is provided, which contains a nozzle in the flow path, the pressure ratio between the pressure at the upstream nozzle side and the pressure at the downstream nozzle side being controlled. The nozzle may be a convergent/divergent nozzle and is operated under an optimum expansion condition.
