Double decker wing for aircraft - has upper and lower surfaces connected by vertical ribs

The double decker or biplane wing is for an aircraft. The upper and lower surfaces of the wing form part of a common aerofoil contour. The two surface (2,3) are connected to each other by a number of vertical ribs which extend from the leading edge to the trailing edge. The leading edge of the upper surface(2) projects beyond the leading edge of the lower surface (1) by an angle of 55 deg. The trailing edge of the lower surface (1) projects beyond the trailing edge of the upper surface by an angle of 45 deg. USE/ADVANTAGE - Increased lift with consequent shorter take-off for the aircraft.
