A cold runner block for injection moulding elastomers has a manifold block with a bore to a number of nozzles. This manifold bore is machined out of an inserted part which slides into a recess in a solid body; this part is made up of two pieces fitting face to face, and distributor bores are made by machining impressions those faces. The body is in two halves screwed together and it has coolant bores of conventional form. It has an internal space with rectangular cross-section, into which the inserted part slides. This part itself is in two halves with mating faces into which mating grooves have been machined m to form bores. The two blocks are locked together by bolts and stepped bores arranged close to the bore so that the assembly is very tightly screwed together. Consequently the inner members are held tightly. The structure withstands high internal pressures without leaking, despite the weakening ADVANTAGE - The cold runner block is easy to handle and it functions for prolonged periods without interruption.
