The analog signal conversion method uses several bit resolution and determination of a quantising residue in a parallel-series process. The determination of the quantising residue takes place in two steps. Starting from an output signal, available as current, in the first step for parallel AD conversion a continuous subtraction of specified currents is carried out. Each current has a magnitude, corresponding to a quantising interval, determined s individual points with specified summation code according to a given formula. In the second step to form the quantising residue a specified current is subtracted from the analog input signal. ADVANTAGE - Reduced effect of faults.
