WEAR DETECTING DEVICE FOR ROLLER CUTTER OF SHIELD EXCAVATOR

PURPOSE:To enable judgment of replacement timing of a roller cutter by inputting the detected signals of a pressure detecting device for detecting both the pressure of a propulsion jack and the oil pressure of a hydraulic motor for turning the cutter face into a computer for arithmetic processing, and by comparing this result with a cutter replacement judging zone that has been previously input. CONSTITUTION:On the rear side of a shield excavator body 1, a pressure detecting device 4 and a personal computer 5 are arranged. Then, the total thrusting force of a shield jack 3 and the oil pressure of a hydraulic motor for turning the cutter face are detected by the pressure detecting device 4, and this is input into the personal computer 5 as excavation data for arithmetic processing. A cutter replacement judging zone is previously input into the personal computer 5, and when the input signal from the detecting device 4 is out of the zone, this is displayed on a CRT 7, and also an alarm is sounded by an alarm device 8. Thus, the continuous grasp of wear condition of the roller cutter, and the judgment of the optimum replacement timing of the roller cutter can be enabled, and the shield excavator can be efficiently operated.
