PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent breaking of a fastener such as a bolt by preventing load working on a roller cutter from working directly on the fastener. ;SOLUTION: This roller cutter supporting device of a shield excavator is so designed that a roller cutter 21 held against a holder 20 is supported on a cutter frame 11 provided at the front of a shield excavator main body. In this case, the cutter frame 11 is provided with a placement block 15 to which the holder 20 is attached from the working face side, and a supporting part 26b abutting to the placement block 15 and flattened in almost the radial direction of the roller cutter 21 is formed in the holder 20, and a space 16 for taking the roller cutter 21 out to the side opposite to the working face together with the. holder 20 by rotating the holder 20 almost about the rotation axis of the holder 20 along with the roller cutter 21 and passing it through the supporting part 26b is formed adjacent to the placement block 15; a locking means (bolt) for locking the holder 20 to the placement block 15 from the side opposite to the working face is provided.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
