TURRET LATHE WITH AUTOMATIC TOOL EXCHANGER

PURPOSE:To make a turret lathe compact and increase the exchanging speed of tools by arranging a tool magazine behind a head stock, inserting a tool rest casing pivotally supporting a turret into the rectangular through hole of a column movably in the Y-axis direction, and guiding it with two guides. CONSTITUTION:The tool magazine 61 of an automatic tool exchanger is arranged behind a head stock, and a tool exchanging head 81 moved in parallel with a main spindle 2 is provided adjacently to the tool magazine 61. A column 13 guiding a turret 16 in the Y-axis direction is formed into a rectangular cylinder with a long rectangular through hole 14 in the Y-axis direction, two guides 23 are provided face to face across the rectangular through hole 14, and a tool rest casing 15 pivotally supporting the turret 16 is inserted into the rectangular through hole 14 of the column 13 movably in the Y-axis direction and guided by two guides 23. The whole machine can be made compact, tools can be exchanged at a high speed, tools are easily fitted or removed from the tool magazine at the time of the tool exchange.
