METHOD FOR DECIDING CHARACTER AREA IN ELECTRONIC COMPOSING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To efficiently decide a character area by using the matrix array of a dummy composition equivalent to a solid group at the time of deciding the character area in character composing. CONSTITUTION:The dummy character DC is displayed on a display screen 6 in the form of the matrix array, the array is referred to and the character area is decided. A processing for displaying the dummy character DC on the display screen 6 can be executed in short time and a dummy character array DA is displayed on the display. When a character size and an array rule are altered by the judgement of an operator, required time for alteration can be short. Then, it can easily be learnt to which area in a range the required number of the characters can be stored since the dummy characters are in the matrix array even at the time of deciding the character area based on the dummy character array DA. Thus, the preparation work of character composing can be made efficient.
